The Opportunity:

WSP is expanding its Earth and Environment services, and we are adding a Senior Geochemist to our team in Prairies and North. You will lead geochemistry projects, especially in oil sands and mining environments, and help enhance our service offerings in the region.

Day in the Life:

  • Lead geochemistry projects in oil sands and mining
  • Engage in client interactions, proposal writing, and business development
  • Conduct geochemical characterization and environmental assessments
  • Interpret data and develop conceptual models
  • Prepare reports and presentations
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Prioritize safety and serve as a role model

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Geochemistry (MSc or PhD preferred) or related field
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of chemistry and geology; experience with oil sands geochemistry is an asset
  • Familiarity with modeling software like PHREEQC, Geochemist’s Workbench, GoldSim
  • Proficiency with data management tools (Excel, EQuIS, Access)
  • Excellent communication skills
