Job summary

Vaco, located in the Greater Toronto Area, seeks a Mandarin-speaking Senior Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting across multiple entities. You will handle month-, quarter-, and year-end closing, reconciliations, and reporting for global entities, while supporting audits and tax filings.

The role requires a degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA path, 4+ years’ experience, and ERP proficiency (Power BI, SAP, Navision). Hybrid work options and strong analytical skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA/CGA/CA designation or nearing completion
• 4+ years of progressive experience in a similar role, either in industry or public practice
• Experience working in a global, multi-entity environment is an asset
• Solid ERP experience; Power BI, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) are desirable

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing entries and account reconciliations for various global entities
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management and departmental reports as required
• Assist with external and internal audits and annual tax returns
• Prepare/oversee various monthly filings, including HST, regulatory and other business compliance filings
• Liaise with other departments across the company to ensure timely and accurate financial results
• Continuously improve operational and financial accounting processes and challenge the status quo
• Support the finance team on various ad hoc projects

About the Company

Our client offers global sourcing, engineering and marketing solutions. They are looking for a Senior Accountant (Mandarin Speaking) who will be responsible for full-cycle accounting across six to seven business entities. The role includes preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, management reports, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing entries.

Additional responsibilities include in depth inventory and cost accounting, audit support, annual tax returns, HST and regulatory filings, interdepartmental coordination, process improvement, detailed financial analysis, and ad hoc finance projects.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently, resolve regular accounting issues, and maintain accurate and timely financial reporting.

Salary Range

$85,000 - $95,000/year

You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
