Job summary

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Senior Gameplay Programmer - AI to join our team in Canada. You will help create believable AI systems, focusing on navigation, pathfinding and avoidance for open-world gameplay in Cyberpunk 2.

You will collaborate with designers and engineers to deliver scalable AI features and robust tools that empower rapid iteration. Applicants should have strong C++ skills, Unreal Engine expertise, and a proven track record in multi-threaded systems and performance optimization

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional programming experience in the games industry.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Unreal Engine.
• Deep expertise with pathfinding, navigation, and avoidance, ideally in an open world game.
• Experience with current-gen console hardware.
• A good understanding of geometric algorithms and data structures.
• Experience in writing multi-threaded systems.
• Experience profiling and optimizing code at the systems level.
• A deep understanding of 3D mathematics.
• Ability to think creatively and strategically to overcome technical challenges and drive innovation in technology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will help the team develop believable worlds by creating systems and features that aid our designers create highly advanced AI behaviours. This role will be responsible for core navigation, pathfinding, and avoidance systems, with a focus on scalability and open world performance.
