Job summary

Citco is seeking a skilled fund accountant to support the Private Assets team. The role focuses on month-end NAV preparation, ledgers, and financial statements, with exposure to client interaction and cross-functional collaboration.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years in fund accounting, strong communication, and proficiency in Excel and SunGard Investran PE. This on-site position offers growth within a global leader in asset servicing.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of fund accounting experience in PE funds or similar financial institution.

Responsibilities

• Complete monthly net asset value preparation including cash and portfolio reconciliations, accruals, allocations, and financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and sub-ledgers.
• Prepare and review trial balances and working papers.
• Manage and monitor the timeliness and quality of client deliverables.
• Interact with senior management and clients; provide technical accounting knowledge.

About the Team & Business Line:

Fund Administration is Citco’s core business, and our alternative asset and accounting service is one of the industry’s most respected. Our continuous investment in learning and technology solutions means our people are equipped to deliver a seamless client experience.

As a core member of our Private Assets team, you will be working with some of the industry’s most accomplished professionals to deliver award-winning services for complex fund structures that our clients can depend upon.

Your Role:

• You will complete the monthly net asset value preparation, which includes: Cash and Portfolio Reconciliations, Income and Expense Accruals, Partner/Shareholder Allocation calculations and Financial Statement preparation.
• Maintain the general ledger and various sub-ledgers
• Prepare and review trial balances and work paper product
• Manage and monitor the timing and quality of client deliverables
• Interact with senior management and clients
• Provide technical accounting/industry knowledge to clients
• Coordinate with Operations group, Tax group, Investor Relations group, Financial Statement group, and other groups at Citco
• Review private equity fund clients’ partnership agreements, PPMs and other materials
• Implement fund structures on accounting system
• Interact daily with P&L team on valuations and price analysis
• Complete ad hoc reports as needed

About You:

• You have3 - 5 years of fund accounting experience in either a Private Equity Fund, Private Equity administrator or other financial institution where the accountant has gained financial products knowledge.
• Experience in reviewing and preparing general ledgers and financial statements
• Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience of other professionals
• Project management skills with attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of Excel and Word is essential, experienced user of the SunGard Investran PE accounting platform highly desirable

Salary Range: CAD $68,000-$86,000
