Job summary

Citco is seeking a Supervisor, Fund Accounting - Private Assets in Toronto. The role involves overseeing NAV calculations for Private Equity funds, reviewing expenses, and coordinating with Investor Relations, Tax, and Financial Reporting teams in a hybrid environment.

The candidate will supervise staff, provide mentorship, and ensure adherence to internal policies and client SLAs, while supporting client onboarding and integrations within a global service framework.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or professional accounting designation (CFA, CGA, CMA, CA, CPA) is required.
• 4+ years of fund accounting experience in Private Equity or financial institutions with fund products knowledge.
• Experience in reviewing general ledgers and financial statements; strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with FIS Investran PE accounting platform is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and/or prepare periodical Net Asset Value calculations for Private Equity Funds, including financial statement prep and allocation calculations.
• Review fund expenses such as admin and management fees, carried interest and other fees.
• Review accounting work, capital events, investor statements and reporting prepared by staff.
• Coordinate with other Citco groups globally and act as a primary day-to-day contact with clients.

As a core member of our Private Assets team, you will be working with some of the industry’s most accomplished professionals to deliver award-winning services for complex fund structures that our clients can depend upon.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

• Oversee and/orprepare periodical Net Asset Value calculations for the Private Equity Funds, including Financial Statement preparation, trial balance review and Partner/Shareholder Allocation calculations.
• Review the calculation of fund specific expenses, including admin fees, management fees, carried interest and other applicable fees
• Review accounting work, capital events, other client deliverables, investor statements and reporting prepared by staff
• Review private equity funds’ partnership agreements, PPMs and other materials
• Ensure compliance with internal policies/procedures/best practices, external standards, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in all work performed by the team and ensure all client SLAs are met
• Coordinate with Investor Relations, Waterfall, Tax, Financial Reporting and other Citco groups/teams globally
• Act as a primary day-to-day contact with Clients and other fund participants
• Coordinate, manage and monitor external audit processes
• Demonstrate understanding of Private Equity Fund types and mechanics andprovide technical accounting/industry knowledge to clients as needed
• Participant in client integration (including new client onboarding and conversions)
• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of team members
• Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to staff
• Act as a liaison between team members and upper management
• Foster a problem-solving culture within the team
• Implementation of efficiency initiatives in a timely manner
• Generate ad hoc reports as required

Qualifications

About You:

• You have aUniversity degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or professional accounting designation (CFA, CGA, CMA, CA, CPA).
• 4+ years of fund accounting experience in either a Private Equity Fund, Private Equity Administrator, or other financial institution where the accountant has gained financial products knowledge
• Experience in reviewing and preparing general ledgers and financial statements
• Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience of other professionals
• Project management skills with attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task
• Sound judgement, problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office ( EspeciallyExcel and Word), experienced user of the FIS Investran PE accounting platform highly desirable

Salary Range: CAD $85,000-$103,000
