Job summary

HCL Technologies Limited in Vancouver seeks a Senior Functional Tester to ensure quality of software products through thorough functional testing, collaborating with development teams to meet client requirements.

You will design test plans and cases, execute field tests, report results, and help fix defects while adapting to project needs and travel to multiple sites within the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of software QA testing experience with test plans, use cases, and issue reports.
• Experience testing in a Consumer Electronics lab or field environment.
• Experience working on consumer hardware/software product.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Create test plans and test cases with hardware and software teams.
• Run test cases on devices – such as executing use case scenario-based testing.
• Write, read, run, and enhance test scripts in collaboration with Software teams.
• Execute test cases in the field and interpret and report testing results.
• Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution.
• Provide technical support to the field operation or trials team.
• Apply knowledge of wireless and networking technologies, mobile devices, and QA practices to ensure targets are met.
• Gaining knowledge of the features and detailed functional requirements to execute tests.
• Work indoor/outdoor 3-5 days per week in the field, traveling to sites within 50 miles.
