Job summary

Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our agile development team in Canada. You will architect and implement end-to-end solutions, spanning sophisticated frontends to scalable backends and APIs, driving technical decisions shaping our products.

You will lead frontend development with React/Next.js, design robust backend services, and champion cloud-native AWS architectures, databases, and API contracts while promoting code quality and test-driven practice.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with full-stack capability.
• Strong expertise in React.js and Next.js, including state management solutions and modern React patterns.
• Strong expertise in Node.js/Express and/or Java Spring Boot with extensive experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Proven experience with AWS services including Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, EC2, and S3.
• Proficient in SQL with experience across both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles (SOLID, DRY, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD and testing frameworks.
• Experience with frontend build tools, package managers, and version control systems.
• Experience working in agile environments with CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontend development of complex applications using React and Next.js, ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Design and develop backend services using Node.js/Express or Java Spring Boot and architect RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Architect responsive, accessible UIs delivering strong user experiences.
• Develop cloud-native solutions on AWS, including serverless and container orchestration.
• Lead database design across relational and NoSQL databases.
• Collaborate with UX and stakeholders to translate requirements into API contracts across the stack.
• Champion best practices for code quality, testing, and documentation.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to technical planning and architecture discussions.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot production issues across the stack.
