Who You Are

The Senior Full Stack WordPress Developer is a core member of our marketing team - the Tech Brain of the company. Your primary mission will be to architect and engineer critical components across various micro-services, including front and backend development, delivery and maintenance of the GTA-Homes’ website and applications.

As a Senior Full Stack WordPress Developer, you will evaluate new and existing technology, APIs, databases, and our digital environment. Your judgment will be crucial as we integrate these into our Platforms.

You will work with the Development and Marketing team and will be relied on to provide your knowledge, support, and cutting-edge ideas to tackle everyday problems. Through working with a cross-functional team and meeting our growth targets, you will develop a variety of new skills and will be challenged in exciting ways. An experienced, enthusiastic, detailed-oriented, and product experience-driven Senior Full Stack WordPress Developer will help us reach the next phase of our success!

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with the team members to fully understand the design and user requirements of the platform.
  • Work with the Development team to create features on the product roadmap for GTA-Homes.
  • Manage projects at their highest efficiency by applying modern development techniques.
  • Help maintain the GTA-Homes website.
  • Create and work with applications to ensure communication between CRM and websites are performing efficiently.
  • Implement technical optimizations specific for Website Speed and Performance and continuously optimize the quality, performance and user experience of the website.
  • Develop new and update existing web applications, including front-end (UI / UX) and back-end (API) services.
  • Work with the team to create Web modules using APIs.
  • Implement new features and functionality on WordPress.
  • Ensure quality assurance by testing the code and performing code reviews.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree / University degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with WordPress.
  • Experience building modern WordPress sites that embrace the Gutenberg block editor.
  • Familiar with and create custom Gutenberg blocks.
  • Experience with WordPress customization, React, and NPM.
  • Years of experience building, deploying and maintaining production web applications.
  • Develop and modify new features + functionality in PHP and WordPress.
  • Perseverance to learn and code in new and unfamiliar technology.
  • Proficient in SOAP - or REST-based web services, XML and JSON technologies.
  • Ability to analyze, solve problems and work with the team to identify and fix the root cause of the problem.
  • Ability to create or enhance WordPress themes and plugins following best practices.
  • Pixel perfect precision to implement existing design mockups.
  • Ability to navigate a Linux server using SSH command line.
  • Experience using WP-CLI.
  • Familiarity with WordPress Coding Standards.
  • Understanding of agile development practices and Git workflows.
  • Ability to document code and create user guides.
