Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer in Toronto, hybrid work (3 days/week). You will build features end-to-end across frontend and backend using React/TypeScript and Python (FastAPI).

Expect collaboration with product managers, designers, and engineers to ship high-quality software impacting user experience. The role emphasizes architecture decisions, scalable services, and production-grade quality, with emphasis on CI/CD, testing, and mentorship

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, Python (FastAPI), and RESTful API design.
• SQL and database design.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Experience building and shipping production-grade applications.
• Experience with Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end product features across frontend and backend.
• Build responsive, performant user interfaces using React (TypeScript).
• Develop scalable APIs and backend services using Python (FastAPI).
• Translate product requirements into clean, maintainable code.
• Contribute to application architecture and technical design decisions.

We’re hiring a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join one of our product engineering pods, building and evolving features end-to-end across frontend and backend systems. You’ll partner closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ship high-quality, reliable software that directly affects user experience and product outcomes. This role is hands‑on and highly collaborative — the ability to communicate clearly, present technical decisions, and align cross‑functional partners is as important as the code you write.

What's on the menu? Product Development

• Design and implement end-to-end product features across frontend and backend
• Build responsive, performant user interfaces using React (TypeScript)

System Design & Implementation

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering
• Strong hands‑on experience with:
• JavaScript / TypeScript (React)
• Python (FastAPI)
• RESTful API design and backend development
• SQL and database design
• Experience building and shipping production‑grade applications
• Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices
• Ability to work independently and take ownership in a product‑focused team
• Communication & Soft Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confident presenting technical concepts, trade‑offs, and decisions to engineers, product managers, and senior stakeholders
• Strong active‑listening and stakeholder‑management skills; able to navigate ambiguity and align partners around solutions
• Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback in code reviews, design discussions, and retrospectives
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines preferred
• Performance optimization experience preferred
• Experience with observability tooling preferred
• Experience working in Agile environments preferred

Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical discussions preferred

New Hire Base Salary Range: $96,200.00 - $120,200.00 Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents. The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
