Job summary

BlackBerry Radar is seeking a backend-focused engineer to scale its real-time telemetry platform from Ottawa. You will build microservices in Node.js, work with MySQL/Elasticsearch, and optimize data pipelines on AWS.

You’ll influence architecture, collaborate across teams, and ensure reliability through automated testing, CI/CD, and observability. This full-time role offers a VIP bonus program and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend microservices and event-driven systems.
• Strong SQL and NoSQL experience with MySQL/Elasticsearch/Redis.
• Comfort with AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern cloud tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize backend microservices using Node.js, Express, NATS, Redis, MySQL, and Elasticsearch on AWS.
• Work on data-intensive, real-time systems ingesting telemetry at scale.
• Contribute to front-end development using React.
• Influence architectural decisions and technical direction across the platform.
• Ensure reliability through automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
