Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

You will collaborate with other technology teams to design, develop, and implement software systems and solutions architecture critical to Moneris’ business operations. Perform research and development activities to improve platform technology. Ensure that security, availability, and technology strategy objectives are met. For hosted platforms, work with site reliability engineering to manage the technical design and operations of the platforms.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a Hybrid model.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, Software Development and Architecture.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

• Analyze requirements, design, develop, update, and repair solutions to improve the product through development, design, and business intelligence.
• Conduct data analysis to support requirements and transfer design concepts across environments.
• Analyze business requirements for complex issues to determine the best solutions; some user interaction may be required.
• Lead in moderately sized or significant portions of complex software systems delivered to customers.
• Participate in architecture, design, and implementation of complex software, adhering to software development best practices for the full software development life cycle.
• Build solutions that operate main platforms powering our business, working directly with users to understand the domain and identify opportunities for improvements and optimizations.
• Manage projects from scoping requirements through to launch.
• Conduct product reviews to ensure functionality meets future user/client requirements.
• Innovate with new features or re-architect areas for user and performance improvements.
• Mentor junior team members and perform peer code reviews.

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, design, or business intelligence environments.
• At least 5 years’ experience with JavaScript, NodeJS, Java, and Spring Boot framework; proficiency in ReactJS and JavaScript across multiple programming languages.
• Experience with microservices and micro-frontend architecture is an asset.
• Ability to lead projects and communicate progress effectively.
• Proficiency in payment systems and merchant acquiring business is an asset.
