Wealthsimple Inc. in Toronto is seeking a Senior Front End Engineer to own meaningful slices of trading and investing experiences at Canada's first zero-commission brokerage.

This is a pipeline role across frontend teams, including Order Execution and Options Trading, partnering with product managers, designers, and engineers. You'll work on high-visibility surfaces like order flow, trading interfaces, and real-time data, with a strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and craft.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong frontend fundamentals with React and TypeScript.
• Native mobile experience (Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android).
• An AI-first development workflow with rigorous verification and safety.
• Product judgment and a maker-owner mindset; owning domains over time.
• Technical leadership and clear communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own complex, end-to-end frontend projects across the trading experience from design to launch.
• Build and improve client-facing surfaces powering order flow and trading products with emphasis on reliability and performance.
• Work on high-stakes client journeys: order entry/execution, options trading, real-time market data, portfolios across assets.
• Make architectural decisions balancing speed, quality, and scale; guide the team on what to build next.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to define goals, surface trade-offs, and deliver outcomes.
• Maintain reliability and observability standards; ensure high-quality, scalable code.
• Drive faster, safer development with AI tooling, pushing the frontier where appropriate.
• Mentor teammates through code reviews, design reviews, and pair programming.
