Irving Oil is seeking a Senior Engineer, Front End Engineering, to lead FEL 1 and FEL 2 activities and support FEED/detailed engineering for refinery capital projects. You will drive safety, environmental stewardship, and community well‑being while delivering fit‑for‑purpose solutions.

The role requires a minimum Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering with P.Eng. and 10+ years in Refinery/Oil & Gas, plus 5+ years in day-to-day refinery support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering required.
• P.Eng. designation is an asset or requirement depending on local regulations.
• Experience with refinery operations and capital projects is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in Front End Loading FEL 1 and FEL 2 activities.
• Manage project sponsors and stakeholders and communicate with internal and external parties.
• Develop key project documents (Project Frame, I Phase Plan, Design Intent, Decision Matrix) and present to leadership.
• Lead benefits analyses and business case development.
• Coordinate with 3rd party consultants and contractors, directing their work.
• Support development of project schedules, execution plans and cost estimates.
