Job summary

RBC in Toronto is seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to join the Global Security team as a contractor, delivering high-quality frontend components across platforms. You will build using Vue.js, TypeScript, JavaScript and CSS, implement unit tests, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in frontend development, API experience, and a strong grasp of modern frameworks and testing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of frontend development experience with Vue.js, TypeScript, JavaScript and CSS.
• Experience with frontend unit testing frameworks (Vitest, Tailwind).
• Minimum 3 years creating/consuming APIs.
• Proven ability to deliver scalable and maintainable frontend components and solutions.
• Strong understanding of frontend principles, patterns and best practices.

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to work on complex development initiatives within our Global Security team. As a contractor, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality frontend components and solutions across multiple platforms.

What will you do?

• Develop frontend components based on provided wireframes and design specifications
• Implement frontend development frameworks to achieve the best user experience
• Deliver functional and tested code that meets the requirements and specifications
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely and successful delivery of projects
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that the code is of high quality and follows best practices

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Vue.js, Typescript, JavaScript, and CSS
• Experience working with frontend unit testing frameworks (Vitest, Tailwind)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in creating/consuming APIs
• Proven experience in delivering scalable and maintainable frontend components and solutions
• Strong understanding of frontend development principles, patterns, and best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice-to-have

• Experience building LLM‑native web applications
• Design experience with Figma
• Hands on experience with data modelling and BE‑FE integration
• Understanding of Docker and other containerized platforms
• Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience in cloud engineering and deployments
