Job summary

Smile.io is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a frontend specialization to design, build, and maintain shopper-facing apps and merchant tools. You’ll work across the stack to ensure quality, reliability, scalability, and performance in an agile environment.

You will contribute to experiments and incremental delivery, collaborating with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to ship impactful features for a leading loyalty platform. This remote role overlaps with EST hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience with senior-level frontend and full-stack capabilities.
• Expert-level experience with Ember.js and/or React using TypeScript.
• Backend experience with Node.js, Python, Ruby on Rails, or similar.
• Experience building high-traffic, scalable systems and debugging server-side code.
• Familiar with AI tools to improve developer productivity and product outcomes.
• Proficient with observability tools (DataDog, Grafana).
• Experience with PostgreSQL and modern database concepts.
• Strong collaboration in agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Write, test, instrument, document, and maintain software for Smile.io.
• Review code and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback for your team.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to build new features.
• Support a highly available service used by millions of users daily.
