The role

As the first Senior Front-end Engineer, you’ll partner with the team to build and maintain Boreal, our Moose Hosting service as well as our marketing properties. I am looking for a front-end engineer that’s comfortable working on some NodeJS TypeScript backend (NextJS). As this is still very early in the company's life, you will have opportunities to stretch all across the stack.

I am pragmatic , I spend my innovation chips deliberately and will encourage you to do the same. I love learning and I am always eager to read the latest trends and best practices. I firmly believe that engineering is a team sport; the best technical architectures and designs come out of tight collaborations between team members. I will challenge your designs, encourage you to hone your craft, expect you to ship code to production often, and eventually expect you to coach more junior engineers as the team grows.

Responsibilities:

• Build, Maintain, and Operate the Web Properties (includes boreal) of Fiveonefour and their Node backends
• Lead the architecture and structure of our front-end code bases.
• Review and contribute to other engineers' designs and code
• Collaborate with Product and Design to make the web products come to life
• Participate in the recruitment process
• Mentor more junior team members
• Represent the company at industry events and conferences

Qualifications:

Must haves:

• Robust architectural and design skills
• Robust coding skills in Typescript and Tailwind
• NextJS experience
• An eye for detail and pixel-perfect UIs
• Undaunted by a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity, building systems, and making sense of what others might consider chaos
