Our client is seeking a Senior Front End Designer to work on service innovation, program review, and digital transformation projects for a public sector client.
Primarily a remote role but may require some travel to Edmonton.
Must Haves :
- 6+ years working as a Front End Designer with at least 2 years in the following :
- Experience designing and enhancing services via web and other channels.
- Experience developing UX artifacts, including streamlined scenarios, storyboards, wireframes, flows, and interactive prototypes.
- Experience working within a cross-functional product team in an Agile environment.
Additional Experience Required :
- 2+ years with the following :
- Experience building and maintaining component libraries / design systems.
- Exploring multiple design solutions to a given problem or feature, and communicating those visually through sketches, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, or high-fidelity designs.
- Production design experience for multiple digital devices (web, mobile, etc.) or complex enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and principles, including WCAG.
- Familiarity with current methodologies and design thinking, especially in service improvement.
- Experience with frontend design tools such as Axure, Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, etc.
- Experience working as a Front End Designer on projects similar in size and complexity to digital transformation initiatives for enterprise or public sector clients.
- Experience working in a dedicated public sector digital office (e.g., UK GDS, Ontario Digital Service, BC Gov Digital Experience, GoA Digital Innovation Office).

Deliverables should evolve with project needs, but must include:
- Creative, evidence-based front-end design solutions aligned with standards.
- Design artifacts such as prototypes, wireframes, design pattern libraries, style guides, and build-ready specifications.
- Design research plans.
- Justifications for design decisions to align teams and stakeholders.
- Participation in agile ceremonies like sprint planning, reviews, demos, and retrospectives.
- Usability testing plans and reports.
- Design accessibility analysis and recommendations for compliance.
