Job Description: Position Title: French Editorial Specialist

Line of Business: ENTERPRISE DIGITAL and Innovation

Duration: 6 months

Remote/Hybrid: hybrid, every Wednesday and 3rd Friday of the month

Office Location: 81 Bay 16th Floor

Best vs average candidate: experience in translating in a corporate setting (banking experience preferred), adaptable, and strong communicator

Job Description: As a French Editorial Specialist, you’ll review and edit English-to-French translated content for accuracy, consistency, tone, and correct any typographical and grammatical errors. You may also need to provide translations of content updates and emergency translations of short pieces.

You’ll collaborate with other French Editorial Specialists to establish and uphold French editorial standards, ensuring the production of fully optimized French content with a consistent tone and voice.

You’ll coordinate with intake analysts, English editors, visual designers, developers, and QA analysts to ensure the timely delivery of accurate and concise French content.

How You’ll Succeed

1. Review, edit, proofread, and translate content while maintaining style, tone, and editorial standards across all The Bank's Digital properties
2. Work with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain French content for digital platforms
3. Support coordination of translation, Québec Marketing, Québec Legal reviews, and French editorial review processes
4. Complete tasks efficiently within a hybrid work model

Must Have Requirements:

1. Strong proficiency in English and native-level French
2. At least 3 years of editorial and translation experience
3. Excellent terminological research skills
4. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with digital accessibility
5. At least 2 years’ experience with content publishing and defect management tools

Nice to Have:

1. Degree in translation or related field
2. Experience with French Canadian language nuances
3. Knowledge of OQLF standards
4. Experience using Termium, Le GDT, Antidote, and other terminology databases
