Job summary

LMI Technologies is seeking a Senior Hardware (FPGA) engineer to join its multi-disciplinary team in Burnaby, BC. The role centers on designing and validating complex FPGA solutions for embedded systems, including machine vision and high-speed interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering required or equivalent.
• Minimum 5+ years in FPGA/ASIC digital logic design and testing.
• Experience with multi-clock-domain designs and high-speed interfaces (LVDS, PCIe, MIPI, MGT).
• Proficient in self-verifying simulation environments and debugging techniques.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of high-performance RTL using VHDL, Verilog and SystemVerilog.
• Define FPGA architecture and micro-architecture specs from system requirements.
• Collaborate on HW/SW interfaces and memory maps across teams.
• Mentor engineers; conduct feasibility studies for new hardware platforms.
• Interface with vendors to resolve tool issues and procure IP cores.
