Job summary

ANVIL is seeking a Senior Integration Engineer to connect our mission-critical software to defense, public safety, and national security systems. You will design and build data pipelines, develop custom connectors, and ensure secure, compliant data flows across diverse sources while working closely with defense contractors and military personnel.

The role is based in Ottawa, offering a hybrid work model with up to 30% travel (domestic and international).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of software development experience with a focus on integration, preferably in defence or related industry.
• Proven track record of integrating complex software systems and data pipelines.
• Experience building integrations via REST APIs, message queues, and streaming interfaces.
• Experience designing, building, and operating data pipelines ingesting from diverse sources.
• Experience leading customer-facing technical discovery sessions, including requirements gathering and solution scoping.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites for requirements gathering, integration development, testing, and hands-on support.
• Design, build, and test integrations with external systems and data pipelines.
• Develop connectors/adapters for diverse data sources (flat files, databases, APIs, queues, streams).
• Streamline integration processes and documentation for repeatable, reliable implementations.
• Provide regular status updates on integration progress and data flow health metrics.
