Job Opportunity: Senior Forest Technician

Location: Kamloops, BC

Employee type: Full time, Permanent

Compensation: $25 - $32/Hour

Responsibilities

The Sr. Forest Technician is responsible for forest development activities including reconnaissance road/cutblock engineering, ecological and riparian assessments, and completing the associated plans, deliverables, and appraisal packages in a safe, timely, cost effective and professional manner.

Qualifications and Competencies
  • A safety conscious attitude, experience supporting safety programs, and developing a team safety culture;
  • Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in forestry;
  • Registered or eligible to register with the FPBC as an RPF or RFT;
  • A minimum of 3 years of multiphase timber development project management in British Columbia;
  • A strong understanding of the forest legislation, regulation and policy impacting forest planning and management in British Columbia;
  • Valid driver\'s license with a clean abstract;
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about forestry and working outdoors in all weather conditions;
  • Able to work both independently under limited direct supervision as well as in a dynamic team environment.
