Job summary

You will mentor junior engineers and drive technical decisions with a focus on reliability and performance. The ideal candidate has at least 10 years in embedded software, 5+ years on VxWorks, and strong C++ skills, with experience in SoCs, automated testing, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of embedded software development experience.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with VxWorks (Wind River).
• Strong C++ programming and real-time embedded development.
• Experience with safety-critical, real-time software solutions.
• Ability to obtain Reliability Status security clearance and CGP considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, implementation, and testing of safety-critical, real-time embedded flight software solutions.
• Define and document complex software designs, ensuring technical decisions and architectures are clearly communicated across the team.
• Lead subsystem design and implementation activities, delivering modular, extensible, testable, and efficient software solutions.
• Review software designs, code, and other work products to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers with technical guidance and development support.
• Lead effort estimation for new tasks and contribute to project planning and technical decision-making.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and management to enforce coding standards and processes.
• Develop and execute automated tests to verify software functionality in real-time environments.
• Support software integration, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and lifecycle improvements.
• Contribute to team objectives and take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
