Job summary

Aversan is seeking an Embedded Software Developer to join our team in Montreal, Quebec. You will develop, test, and maintain embedded flight software for aerospace and space applications using RTOS, C, C++, and Python, within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Collaborating with systems, digital, and RF engineers, you will contribute to CI/CD pipelines, documentation, and rigorous verification activities to ensure safety-critical performance and high-quality software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer/ electrical/ software engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of embedded software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python programming languages.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
• Experience using version control systems such as Git.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, implement, test, and maintain embedded flight software modules for space applications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support specification, design, coding, integration, and verification of embedded flight software.
• Perform flight software integration and testing in lab environments, debugging defects.
• Develop and maintain formal software documentation (requirements, designs, tests).
• Support software process automation and CI/CD activities to improve efficiency and quality.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum activities (planning, code reviews, teamwork).
• Use version control and development tools to manage code and collaboration.
• Ensure activities comply with project requirements, standards, and processes.
