Are you passionate about garment fit, construction, and quality? We’re seeking a Senior Fit Technician on behalf of our client—an established and well-respected Canadian fashion retailer known for creating elevated apparel collections for modern professionals.

This role is based in Montreal and offers the opportunity to join a dynamic design and product development team dedicated to crafting elegant, high-quality clothing that blends style, functionality, and fit.

Description

  • Collaborate with design and product development teams to achieve targeted silhouette, fit, and garment quality
  • Create and maintain technical packages with detailed specifications, construction notes, and measurement standards
  • Evaluate and measure incoming samples and lead fit sessions on live models
  • Provide clear, actionable comments on fit, construction, and workmanship, supported by digital visuals and sketches
  • Communicate directly with suppliers to clarify requirements, resolve production issues, and uphold technical accuracy
  • Approve fit and workmanship at various sample stages, and release final grading for production
  • Maintain an organized library of block patterns and fit standards for consistency across categories
  • Provide coaching and technical support to supply chain partners as needed

Requirements

  • Diploma in Fashion Design or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Fit Technician, Patternmaker, or similar technical role
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, and textiles
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Illustrator, PLM tools; knowledge of LECTRA or CAD pattern-making software is an asset
  • Bilingual (French / English) with strong communication skills, both written and verbal
