WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

Your role requires maintaining high scientific standards. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting fisheries and aquatic habitat assessment projects across Canada.
  • Conducting assessments on fish habitat, communities, and population health, integrating geomorphology, limnology, hydrology, and water/sediment quality.
  • Contributing fish and fish habitat expertise to multidisciplinary projects.
  • Mentoring junior team members and sharing knowledge within the aquatic sciences team.
  • Representing Ecofish Research Ltd. and Minnow Environmental in the scientific community through high-quality deliverables, industry engagement, and conference participation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Registered Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio.) or eligible.
  • At least 12 years of relevant experience, including fish collection, community characterization, and health data assessment.
  • Experience with habitat characterization for Fisheries Act authorizations and knowledge of habitat requirements for Canadian freshwater fish species.
  • Strong analytical, editing, and review skills for high-quality reports and proposals.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, ethics, and excellence.
  • Hands-on experience with aquatic field sampling techniques and familiarity with QA/QC protocols.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical software.
  • Experience in the mining sector is an asset.
