Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Fiserv DNA Developer / Integration Consultant based in Canada.

Join a team supporting digital transformation initiatives for credit unions and financial institutions through specialized core banking technology expertise. In this role, you will design, develop, integrate, and support solutions connected to the Fiserv DNA core banking platform. You will help connect core banking systems with digital banking platforms, lending applications, CRM solutions, payment services, and other third‑party technologies. Working alongside architects, business analysts, QA teams, financial institution stakeholders, and technology vendors, you will translate complex banking requirements into secure, reliable integrations. You will contribute throughout the delivery lifecycle, from technical design and development to testing, deployment, and production support. This remote contract opportunity is ideal for a hands‑on technical professional who combines deep DNA platform knowledge with strong integration skills and a practical understanding of financial‑services operations.

Accountabilities
  • Core banking integration development: Design, develop, enhance, and support integrations between Fiserv DNA and third‑party applications, ensuring reliable data exchange and consistent system behavior.

  • API and interface implementation: Work with relevant DNA APIs and integration interfaces, including DNAconnect, DNA Core API transactions, and Communicator Open, according to the institution's environment and project requirements.

  • Technical design and specifications: Translate banking and business requirements into technical designs, interface specifications, data mappings, and integration workflows.

  • Secure transaction processing: Implement robust authentication, authorization, validation, error handling, retry mechanisms, duplicate‑request prevention, and transaction reconciliation.

  • DNA application development: Develop or enhance DNAapps using DNAcreator when required and supported by the relevant project scope and expertise.

  • Testing and quality assurance: Build automated integration tests and support end‑to‑end testing, regression testing, and business acceptance activities to validate functionality and reliability.

  • Troubleshooting and issue resolution: Diagnose integration issues across DNA, middleware, APIs, and connected systems, collaborating with client teams and technology vendors to resolve technical problems.

  • Deployment and production readiness: Support releases, platform upgrades, production readiness activities, and technical handovers to ensure solutions are stable and maintainable.

  • Documentation and operational support: Document system dependencies, platform constraints, integration behavior, and operational support procedures to facilitate ongoing maintenance.

  • Cross‑functional collaboration: Work closely with architects, business analysts, developers, QA specialists, financial institution teams, and vendor representatives to deliver effective technical solutions.

  • Platform assessment: Evaluate integration requirements, identify relevant interfaces and dependencies, explain technical limitations, and recommend approaches that balance business needs with security, reliability, and implementation constraints.

Requirements
  • Hands‑on Fiserv DNA experience: Demonstrated professional experience developing, integrating, testing, or supporting solutions connected to the Fiserv DNA core banking platform.

  • DNA API and interface expertise: Direct experience with DNA APIs or integration interfaces, with the ability to identify the specific products, transactions, tools, and technologies used in previous projects.

  • Production delivery experience: Experience delivering or supporting at least one DNA‑related solution in a live financial‑services environment.

  • Software development skills: Strong programming capabilities in the languages and frameworks relevant to your DNA engagements, with the ability to clearly describe your technical stack.

  • API and systems integration: Practical experience integrating APIs, working with structured data formats, querying databases, and troubleshooting across connected applications.

  • Banking domain knowledge: Understanding of core banking concepts, including customers or members, accounts, deposits, lending, balances, and financial transactions.

  • Security and reliability: Experience building secure, resilient integrations involving sensitive financial data, with attention to data integrity, error handling, and operational stability.

  • Technical communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions, document solutions, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Independent delivery: Ability to assess requirements, identify dependencies, and deliver tested, supportable solutions with appropriate autonomy.

  • Location and contract eligibility: Must be based in Canada and able to provide services as an independent contractor.

  • Preferred credit union experience: Previous work supporting Canadian credit unions or other community‑focused financial institutions.

  • Preferred DNA development tools: Experience with DNAcreator, DNAapps, or Fiserv AppMarket development and validation.

  • Preferred platform lifecycle experience: Familiarity with multiple DNA versions, platform upgrades, or core banking conversion projects.

  • Preferred integration domains: Experience connecting core banking systems with digital banking, loan origination, CRM, payments, or reporting platforms.

  • Additional technical strengths: Relevant experience with C#/.NET, SQL, Oracle/PLSQL, middleware, cloud platforms, or CI/CD pipelines.

  • Preferred industry background: Previous delivery experience with Fiserv, a credit union, a core banking service provider, or a systems integration consultancy.

  • Project evidence: Ability to describe previous commercial DNA integration projects, including the business requirements, platform details, connected systems, personal contributions, and production outcomes, without disclosing confidential information.

Benefits
  • Remote work: Work remotely from within Canada.

  • Flexible engagement structure: Independent contractor opportunities with project‑specific scope, deliverables, duration, and weekly capacity.

  • Full‑time or part‑time potential: Workload may vary according to the assignment and client requirements.

  • Contract rate flexibility: Hourly fees are agreed upon for each engagement; candidates are invited to share their expected rate in Canadian dollars (CAD).

  • Specialized technical projects: Opportunities to work on core banking integrations and modernization initiatives for credit unions and financial institutions.

  • Technical ownership: Contribute directly to solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

  • Cross‑functional collaboration: Work with experienced technical and business stakeholders across financial institutions and technology partner ecosystems.

  • Professional development through delivery: Build on your expertise across banking platforms, APIs, integration architecture, and financial‑services technology.

  • Clear project expectations: Scope, deliverables, capacity, duration, and fees are agreed upon before each engagement begins.

  • Flexible scheduling considerations: Some assignments may require regular collaboration during North American business hours.
