Location : Toronto

Status : Permanent Full-Time (Hybrid)

Day in the life of :

Reporting to the Director, Finance Operations, the Senior Financial Systems Analyst will be the financial systems subject matter expert and work with internal and external stakeholders to successfully administer the management and oversight of the different finance information systems in support of all finance functions.

The mandate is to drive optimization of our financial systems in collaboration with other team members by reviewing existing and proposed financial applications including recommending, implementing, and testing solutions along with identifying and resolving reported financial system issues in a timely and effective manner.

Core Responsibilities :

  • Oversee and coordinate systems or software integrations incorporating all relevant stakeholders
  • Analyze Finance related business processes and identify opportunities for improvement in relation to the appropriate financial system.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and software vendors to develop and implement solutions for Finance systems and integrations.
  • Review existing and proposed financial applications and recommend, implement, and test solutions.
  • Identify and track reported financial systems issues to determine corrective course of action.
  • Lead all aspects of data migrations and review of integration functional specifications.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including policies, procedures, SOPs and training manuals.
  • Collaborate with software vendors, IT and other business functions to ensure the integration of Finance modules with other related (inter-departmental) systems and applications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in Finance areas.
  • Provide end-user support and training on all Finance systems.

Education / Experience :

  • University degree in Information Technology and Management Information systems with a background in Finance and Accounting.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a mid to large enterprise Finance department.
  • Solid understanding of both Finance and IT terminologies.
  • Experience with all modules of large complex ERP systems / programs and finance process integration initiatives.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Business Central, Emburse / Chrome river and Workday Adaptive Insights would be an asset.
  • Change management experience an asset.
  • Key Skills and Competencies :

  • Technology expertise and proficiency with relevant systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Solid analytical, planning, problem-solving, negotiating and interpersonal skills.
