A career as a Senior Financial Statement Advisor in the Fund Accounting sector at Operations at National Bank involves contributing to various deliverables by collaborating with your team. Your accounting and auditing knowledge, experience with mutual funds and exchange-traded funds, and your dedication to diligence and partnership will positively impact the client experience in this complex sector. The Fund Accounting sector is responsible for calculating unit prices for investment funds, distributions, and producing financial statements and tax returns.

Your job responsibilities include:

  • Applying accounting and regulatory standards, including IFRS, accurately
  • Verifying the accuracy of data and notes to financial statements based on investment strategies
  • Participating in annual audits for mutual funds and ETFs
  • Analyzing impacts of new products or changes on operations and financial reporting
  • Identifying and analyzing partner/client needs to facilitate decision-making through recommendations
  • Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Providing specialized advice to stakeholders
  • Contributing to team development by sharing knowledge and maintaining documentation

Your team

You will be part of a 15-member team within the Financial Statements sector, reporting to the Financial Statements Manager. Our team specializes in mutual fund accounting, producing audited semi-annual and annual financial statements, and fostering a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

Prerequisites include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least seven years of relevant experience
  • CPA designation
  • Experience analyzing notes and auditing financial statements
  • Knowledge of mutual funds, ETFs, and IFRS standards
  • Excellent communication, time management, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and discipline
