Job summary

Hydro One, the largest electricity transmission and distribution provider in Ontario, seeks a finance professional to support corporate reporting, internal controls, and regulatory submissions. You will help prepare monthly internal reports for leadership and the Board, ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP, and assist with external filings and priority analyses.

The role involves coordinating with multiple departments, supporting the OEB rate hearings, and keeping abreast of regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of finance, financial reporting, securities legislation, accounting, economics and mathematics to perform forecasting and develop accounting and financial and internal control policies, business plans, financial statements budgets and standards, including a strong knowledge of IFRS and Canadian GAAP.
• Requires good knowledge of English to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Corporate Controller’s objective of maintaining financial integrity, compliance, effective financial reporting and achievement of corporate strategies through the delivery of an appropriate business plan and related processes.
• Lead development of confidential monthly internal report to CFO/CEO and Board, including schedules, analysis, year-over-year statements and forecasts.
• Prepare monthly presentations and notes for Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, plus quarterly Hydro One fact sheets.
• Contribute to internal control policies, guidelines, and external consolidated financial statements preparation.
• Assist in regulatory filings, including OEB communications, rate hearings, and USOA financial information.
