Job summary

Medmatch-Recruitment is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide comprehensive financial support for a long-term care operation in the Niagara region. The role supports the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and month-end close, while ensuring accurate ledger maintenance and timely reporting to the Ministry and Board.

You will monitor cash flow, implement internal controls, and collaborate with auditors and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
  • CPA designation or in-progress is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in long-term care accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls and reporting.
  • Experience with Dayforce preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Prepare timely financial reports for regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with contracts review and internal controls improvements.

Job description

Senior Financial Analyst - Long Term Care

Provide overall financial support in meeting the financial requirements of operating a long-term care home and independent living apartments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support CFO in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, and overall
  • operations including AP/AR, payroll coordination, expense tracking, and month-
  • end close.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in all financial
  • records.
  • Produce timely financial reports for Ministry and Board and dashboards for
  • stakeholders.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage bank reconciliations, and track key financial metrics.
  • Implement internal controls, policy and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Liaise with auditors, and vendors as needed/directed by CFO.
  • Review contracts for risks and costs. Recommend optimizations where possible
  • to CFO.
  • Optimize Dayforce and accounting processes.
  • Review financial software for consideration to migrate from current FIS and
  • consideration for integration with Dayforce.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in- Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related
  • field
  • CPA designation
  • 2 years minimum in long term care
  • Solid experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets,
  • internal controls, business planning, and asset management
  • Working knowledge and experience with Dayforce preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite, and general accounting
  • software

Working Conditions

Work is generally performed in an office environment within a long-term care

home, with regular interaction with staff across all departments.

May be required to attend meetings, training sessions, audit and ministry

meetings

Must comply with all applicable infection prevention and control practices, health

and safety procedures, and home policies.
