Job description

Our client, in energy sector is looking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst for the Legal Entity Reporting team for an initial 12-month contract in Calgary, AB.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Facilitate the compilation and accurate creation of various financial statements and note disclosures for Canadian and US legal entities, adhering to IFRS standards for regulatory compliance and governance.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Units and the Tax team to aid in the preparation of legal entity financial statements.
  • Assist in the review and audit engagements of legal entity statements conducted by the company's external auditors when necessary.
  • Introduce efficiencies and explore avenues for process enhancement, including transitioning legal entity financial statements to Workiva.
  • Work alongside Accounting Research to promptly address reporting and disclosure issues, including updates to IFRS regulations.
  • Support in the preparation and examination of tax step memos as needed.
  • Undertake additional reporting responsibilities and participate in projects as requested.

Qualifications:
  • A CPA Designation is mandatory.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree from a University, preferably in Accounting, Business, or Finance, is essential.
  • Exceptional proficiency in business writing and verbal communication is required.
  • At least 8 years of progressive experience post-CPA designation in an accounting/finance field is necessary.
  • Profound familiarity with IFRS requirements is vital.
  • Thorough comprehension of the oil and gas industry is essential.
