Job description

Informed decision-making is at the heart of any successful company. As a member of Best Buy Canada's Finance Team, you'll play a crucial role in helping to grow our business.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will support various business groups by providing objective and fact-based analytics to understand performance drivers and the impact of different courses of action. You will participate in decision-making, support new initiatives, and help enhance efficiency.

This role requires the candidate to be in the greater Vancouver, BC area, where we practice a remote-first working model, leveraging in-person interactions for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

Make a difference on our finance team as a Senior Financial Analyst!

What you'll do:
  • Conduct analyses ranging from short-term, current-business opportunities such as sales, operational efficiencies, and customer service, to long-term complex initiatives in adjacent businesses or new 'blue sky' projects.
  • Influence decision-making by presenting data through compelling stories that drive action, bringing a fact-based approach and understanding multiple perspectives.
  • Learn and adopt new analytics methodologies, compile and analyze data from various sources using queries, Excel, and BI tools, and communicate results effectively.
  • Partner with stakeholders in financial planning activities such as long-range planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Synthesize financial data to identify variances and trends, providing insightful commentaries that add business value.
What we're looking for:
  • 3+ years of relevant finance or accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in commerce, accounting, finance, economics, engineering, computer science, math, or related fields
  • Proven experience with Excel, financial analysis, and data analysis
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills or experience with similar data analysis tools
  • Experience with Power Query
