Title: Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A

Location: Mississauga, ON | Hybrid (3 days onsite/week)

About the Opportunity

Our client in Mississauga is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with strong FP&A experience to support monthly financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. This is a 7-month contract role with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in accounting principles, financial modelling, and business communication, along with excellent Excel capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close process and prepare monthly P&L statements
• Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed commentary comparing actuals vs. budget and forecast
• Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process using established financial models
• Analyze revenue flow, including unearned revenue, cost accruals, and revenue recognition
• Collaborate with business partners to explain financial performance and provide actionable insights
• Present financial results and insights confidently to senior stakeholders
• Contribute to ongoing reporting, financial models, and ad hoc analysis as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of core FP&A experience
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts, including accruals and unearned revenue
• Advanced Excel skills – must be proficient with formulas, financial modeling, INDEX MATCH, XLOOKUP, and nested functions
• Proven experience preparing and analyzing P&Ls, and delivering variance commentary
• Excellent communication and presentation skills – able to engage effectively with business leaders
• Comfortable working with large datasets and various financial systems; database skills an asset
• CPA, MBA, or actively pursuing designation is preferred but not mandatory
