Thrive Together.To learn more about who we are visit our website: www.teranet.caAbout the RoleThe Senior Financial Analyst (Fixed Term Contract) will be a front-line member of the financial reporting team and will be responsible for a wide range of financial reporting matters focused on the accurate and effective communication of the entity’s financial and operating results to its key stakeholders and for providing valuable financial insights and decision support analysis to the business.What You’ll Be DoingAccountable for the timely, complete and accurate preparation of the company’s quarterly reviewed and annually audited consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS, as well as the preparation of the company’s Management Discussion and AnalysisResponsible for the preparation of the company’s quarterly compliance reporting and covenant calculations in accordance with the company’s external agreementsAssist with preparation of key reports presented quarterly to the company’s Audit Committee and Board of DirectorsResearch and analyze complex, non-routine accounting issues and key agreements (customer contracts, partnership agreements, debt and hedging arrangements, leases, etc.) to determine IFRS compliant resolutions, make recommendations, and draft memos to support policy decisionsPrepare and maintain complex accounting models related to debt accounting, deferred revenue, contingent consideration, leases, other post-employment benefits, etc. to prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliationsProvide assistance to the Company’s external auditors during the completion of quarterly reviews and annual auditsPrepare the quarterly/annual tax provisions, and liase with the company’s external tax advisors to ensure that tax returns are accurately completed and filed on time, and to assist with all other tax matters as they ariseAssist the Treasury team in preparing quarterly and annual cash flow forecasts to ensure cash liquidity and to accurately estimate distributions to the company’s parentProvide budget/forecast support to the company’s Financial Planning and Analysis team (and other business units) with respect to non-operational expensesDetermine and implement financial reporting impacts for ongoing mergers and acquisitionsPrepare ad-hoc financial analysis, reports and special projects as assignedAbout YouRecently designated CPA, CAExperience in preparing financial statements and note disclosures in accordance with IFRSStrong analytical, technical accounting and problem solving skills, with the ability to process multiple sources of information to deliver insights and well thought out recommendationsA strong sense of curiosity and a high degree of attention to detail with a drive to enhance knowledge base and relationships in a proactive mannerStrong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills with all levels of an organizationPossess a positive attitude a team player mentality with a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityAdvanced PC skills, including high proficiency in MS ExcelPrevious experience with Workday Financials and Adaptive Insights is an assetLet’s Talk PayWe believe in being upfront about pay and helping you make informed decisions about your career.
