Job description

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid, office 4 times per week)

Position:

Reporting to the Director, Financial Investments, the Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Investments & Analysis will play a key role on the Finance Team, supporting executive leaders of the overall organization by providing insightful, actionable analysis and recommendations on key financial decisions. This highly visible role involves working cross-functionally to gather information and deliver value-added financial analytics and recommendations. The successful candidate will have solid transaction advisory experience with a good understanding of financial due diligence, valuations, and financial modeling, with the ability to quickly understand how the entire organization works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play an integral role in the assessment of corporate development opportunities and other growth areas.
  • Perform in-depth assessments of potential M&A opportunities, analyzing deal hypotheses, key value drivers, and risks. Evaluate quality of earnings, EBITDA sustainability, asset quality, and working capital, synthesizing insights into clear, actionable recommendations in collaboration with the deal team.
  • Support the refinement of financial models, including cash flow and business valuation models.
  • Assist in deal documentation and transaction closings, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with operational leaders across our business segments to understand the underlying business model and drivers of performance.
  • Lead the analysis of various special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance (CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, M&A, transaction advisory, private equity, or corporate development.
  • Hands-on experience in financial due diligence, quality of earnings analysis, valuations, and financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical skills, with extreme attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability balanced with sound business judgment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data for the senior team.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience in the Big 4 or private sector is an asset.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
