Job Description - Senior Financial Analyst, Finance (14706)

Empowering People – Extraordinary Performance

Start Your Next Opportunity with IAMGOLD

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role within the Finance Department, supporting IAMGOLD’s financial reporting group. Reporting to the Director, Reporting and Special Projects, you will contribute to the preparation of external reporting documents, analyze financial data, and develop memos on complex accounting matters. Your expertise in IFRS, financial reporting, and accounting policies will help drive accuracy and transparency in our financial statements.

In this role, you will play a key part in IAMGOLD’s financial reporting process, assisting in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements each quarter and supporting month-end and quarterly close activities. You will develop financial schedules, perform in-depth analysis to inform financial statements and the MD&A, and contribute to and assist in preparation of the materials for the Audit and Finance Committee. Leveraging your strong IFRS knowledge, you will identify and analyze accounting issues and assist in drafting accounting policy memos. Your responsibilities will also include assisting in the preparation of the cash flow statement, reviewing legal entity financial statements, monitoring and strengthening the company’s SOX program, and actively participating in ad-hoc finance initiatives. Specific areas of responsibilities for complex areas of accounting will include capitalized borrowing costs, leases, hedge accounting, impairment, and asset retirement obligations. Expertise in discounted cash flow analysis and financial modeling will support the accounting for these complex accounting areas.

What You Need to Succeed

To excel in this role, you will bring a post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with a recognized accounting designation (CA, CPA). Proficiency in ERP and financial reporting software, such as Onestream and/or Oracle would be beneficial. Your ability to build strong relationships across departments, coupled with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, will make you a valuable member of our team. Experience with external reporting requirements for publicly traded companies, financial controls (including SOX for US-listed companies), and working in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment will be an asset. French language skills, while not required, would be beneficial in our global operations.

If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are looking to make an impact in a collaborative and results-driven finance team, we invite you to bring your expertise to IAMGOLD.

IAMGOLD offers a competitive total rewards package, including salary, bonuses, extended health and dental coverage, fitness subsidies, and mental health support. Their hybrid work model, summer hours, and year-end closure promote work-life balance, while pension plans and savings programs secure your financial future.

We understand no candidate meets every qualification listed. If your experience differs but you believe you can add value to the role, we want to hear from you! We are committed to inclusivity and welcome applications from individuals of all abilities. If you need accommodation during the application process, please contact us, and we'll provide the necessary support.
