This Senior Financial Analyst role will support Cigna Canada and its subsidiaries in Canada. The role involves providing in-depth financial analytics for management and supporting finance functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Prepare and report on financial performance for senior management and the Board’s review.
  2. Prepare monthly reporting packages for financial review discussions.
  3. Conduct data mining to assist in preparing comprehensive financial overviews.
  4. Provide value-added financial analysis and dashboards for financial results.
  5. Prepare Regulatory Capital and Investment Analyses.
  6. Research, monitor, and analyze all regulatory, accounting, and tax standards.
  7. Research and report on industry data analysis to management.
  8. Assist with maintaining supplementary lead schedules.
  9. Assist with the preparation of plans and forecasts.
  10. Facilitate audits with external auditors.
  11. Maintain accounting policies and procedure documentation.
  12. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  13. Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization (e.g., Pricing, Underwriting, Reserving, Claims).
  14. Assist in finance projects and initiatives as needed.
  15. Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and a recognized Canadian CPA designation are required.
  • Proficiency in report writing and presenting findings (e.g., PowerPoint).
  • Ability to analyze and interpret statistical and financial data.
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in an analytical or auditing role.
  • Experience in the financial services industry, preferably insurance.
