Senior Financial Analyst/Assistant Controller – 6+ Month

Our client is a manufacturing company looking for a Senior Financial Analyst / Assistant Controller to join them for a 6-contract term. The role is the primary support for the Controller in preparing financial statements and working closely with operations on all financial matters.

Reporting to the Controller, the key responsibilities of this Senior Financial Analyst / Assistant Controller role include:

1. Support in Planning and Analysis – assist the Controller in collecting data and preparing financial analysis for the FP&A process i.e. budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to provide decision support in strategic financial decision-making.
2. Manufacturing Metrics, Cost Analysis and Inventory Management – work with manufacturing personnel to capture and analyze KPIs and cost standards. Conduct physical inventories and monitor cycle count program.
3. Financial Reporting and Compliance – support preparation of Financial Statements in compliance with IFRS and GAAP.
4. General Ledger and Account Management – assist with the maintenance of the general ledger, manage accrued liabilities, prepaid expenses, depreciation schedules, and account reconciliations.
5. Contribute to mentoring and development of junior finance team members.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
2. CPA Designation preferred.
3. 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, modelling, and KPI development.
4. Manufacturing industry experience required.
5. Strong knowledge and experience with ERP systems, working knowledge of SQL and Power BI.
6. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills a must.
7. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
