Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or equivalent.

Amazon seeks a detail-oriented Financial Analyst II to join our AMZL Canada finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for financial planning 1-3 years out, executing the month-end close process, and leading entitlement projects that drive overall cost to serve down for our customers. This hands‑on position requires excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills as you’ll work across operations and support teams to influence strategic decisions.

A day in the life

Your day begins with reviewing key financial metrics and preparing performance reports that provide visibility into AMZL Canada’s operations. You’ll collaborate with operations teams to analyze trends and identify opportunities for improvement.

Throughout the day, you’ll toggle between tactical execution—such as working on month‑end close tasks—and strategic planning activities. You’ll participate in meetings with cross‑functional teams where you’ll present financial insights and influence decisions that impact the business over the next 1-3 years.

About The Team

Our team is small but mighty, responsible for managing all AMZL Canada costs including under‑the‑roof, on‑road, and fixed expenses. We work as strategic partners to operations, providing financial guidance that drives business performance. Each team member plays a crucial role in supporting Amazon’s last mile delivery network in Canada, helping to scale operations efficiently while maintaining financial discipline. We foster a collaborative environment where diverse perspectives are valued and team members have opportunities to grow their skills across multiple financial disciplines.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of Tableau
  • Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon’s package may include other elements such as sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
