As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will be joining the Pensions team, and will be reporting directly into the Associate Director, Pensions Centre of Excellence. In this role you will be leading the Pensions internal FP&A process, preparing department level monthly financial analysis and communications to the Pensions Executive Leadership Team. You will also be responsible for other time sensitive ad hoc analysis and projects for the team.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the internal forecasting & budgeting process for the Pensions team, encompassing various cost centers
  • Present regular and/or monthly update summaries to the Pensions Executive Leadership Team, including program reports and analytical narratives
  • Provide commentary, analysis & insights to forecasting variances
  • Monitor capital and operating expense for various projects
  • Maintain and track vendor and internal resource tracker and associated costs
  • Support invoice review and approval process, including notifying finance of approved invoices
  • Prepare and distribute a variety of regular and ad-hoc management reports (including, but not limited to, actuals, forecast, trends) for current and future planning
  • Acting as a liaison between the Pensions team and other partners such as Finance, Procurement teams to resolve any issues
  • Assist with creating and tracking strategy & priorities deliverables including Operating Plan Budget story and ad hoc reporting deliverables
  • Open to taking on other ad hoc operational tasks
  • Prioritizing issues that are raised and providing solutions in a timely manner
  • Effectively prioritizing and executing tasks within a fast-paced environment
  • Being reliable, punctual and disciplined with the ability to work autonomously
  • Being a team player and committed to contributing to the team effort

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • Working towards or completed CPA certification
  • Demonstrated expertise in budget preparation, financial analysis and reporting
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools especially Excel
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness is very important along with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills, and the ability to consolidate financial data into clear and comprehensive reports
  • Experience preparing financial information in a cross-functional multi-organizational project
  • Excellent analytical abilities
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborating with team members and stakeholders to ensure accurate presentation of financial information
  • A desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment with a willingness to contribute to program success
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting for the financial sector;
  • University degree in Business or related discipline
