This role will be part of the mobility finance team of TELUS Business Solutions (TBS) organization, which provides financial reporting for internal customers mainly from the marketing and sales team and act as a trusted partner to enable strategic business growth. We revise, dive into the data and report monthly financial information to corporate accounting and to our internal customers. We are deeply involved in the financial forecasting activities (budget, triage, and Strat check) ensuring marketing plans and other strategic initiatives are properly reflected.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be a trusted financial advisor and business partner, helping the TBS business to achieve their business goals from a financial perspective. You will be part of a dynamic, collaborative finance team, and work alongside the planning/marketing team to drive business outcomes. In that capacity, you will support a rapidly growing portfolio with evolving business needs and improve profitability by helping the team identify revenue / COAR optimization opportunities. You will also be involved in special projects related to the products and customers in the Enterprise sector.

Here’s How:

Leverage advanced data analytics to deliver financial operational excellence supporting the Enterprise wireless financials for Equipment Revenue, Equipment Costs, Equipment Margin and External Commissions for Mid-Market & Enterprise segments

Drive insights through data mining to proactively identify business risks and opportunities for internal customers, marketing and sales teams

Prime month-end close activities including diving into the data, booking journal entries, evaluating drivers of the variances and recording of transactions into the Mid-Market & Enterprise Equipment Margin

Assist in guiding and coordinating the forecasting, strategic planning and annual budgeting process

Examine internal work processes, recommend and implement process improvement ideas

Finance prime for new marketing initiatives requiring impact assessments, finance requirements, user acceptance testing, training other team members and implementation

Ownership of select balance sheet account reconciliations at month end and/or quarter-end

Support ad-hoc tasks from senior management during Month End and Forecasting

Coach and mentor CPA students rotating through the team

What you’ll bring

5+ years in an accounting heavy, financial planning & analysis type role with increasing responsibilities and focus on IFRS 15

Demonstrated expertise in conducting comprehensive data across multiple accounting platforms

Proven track record with the creation and assessment of complex financial reports

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and G-suite apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Experience leveraging AI tools and automation to streamline financial processes and enhance analytical capabilities

Experience in delivering insightful findings to senior stakeholders, demonstrating a track record of driving change and influencing strategic decisions

Ability to apply innovative ideas and solutions to complex issues, along with a strong sense of ownership and bias for action

Strong communication skills including the ability to articulate complex ideas

Ability to manage multiple deliverables to meet deadlines and goals in a dynamic, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment

Great-to-Haves

Experience with Alteryx considered a strong asset

Telecom or technology industry background considered an asset

SQL/data visualization experience considered an asset

Salary Range: $90,000-$134,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15%
