As a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A at Pehr, you will be an integral member of the Finance team and play a critical role in maximizing the financial performance of Pehr’s sales and operations, and will be crucial to supporting the growth of the company. You will lead the creation of profitability analytics and be the key person influencing decisions for business leaders through financial data and insights, and serve as the main point of contact to provide findings and recommendations to our senior leadership team. In this role, you will be reporting to the CFO, with dotted lines to the Co-CEOs. You will work closely with the Sales, Finance, Merch Planning and Operations teams to develop strategies and provide recommendations enabling the company to optimize its operations and achieve its financial objectives.
What you will be doing :
- Provide analytical support to the Sales / Merch planning teams including financial and market impacts of pricing decisions, and provide proactive recommendations to the Sales team required to make profitable business decisions and maximize top and bottom line growth
- Analyze monthly sales volume, discounts, net sales and gross margin results to support Sales in the development of accurate forecasts. Understand and challenge (where necessary) monthly variances and work with Sales to manage.
- Analyze and report on channel sales performance, ensuring that channel KPIs are met and providing actionable recommendations and scenario planning to reach growth and profitability targets
- Conduct research on industry trends and best practices to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Develop the annual revenue and margins plans by channel, and lead the monthly revenue and margin forecasting processes, contributing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Inventory Profitability Optimization
- Update and maintain accurate costing of inventory to ensure the correct value of inventory is represented and gross margin is correct.
- Assist the Merchandise Planner with SKU forecasting and conduct aged inventory analysis, offering recommendations to increase sell-throughs tailored to specific channels.
- Support the Merchandise Planner on pricing for new and existing products, offering recommendations for pricing and cost updates aligned with revenue and profitability objectives.
- Support Merchandise Planning & Operations to maximize Inventory efficiency, ensuring optimization of warehouse real estate.
- Present monthly benefits vs. cost analysis on aged and slow turning inventory to Merchandise Planning and Operations teams to minimize potential revenue loss while minimizing storage costs
- Establish inventory efficiency KPI’s to ensure constant improvements are made in inventory productivity. KPI’ s include : aging, obsolescence, slow turning skus. Providing analysis to Finance, Operations, Merchandise Planning & Sales teams to develop action plans to address.
- Play a key role in the creation of the annual corporate budgets and lead the monthly financial forecasting process
- Develop and maintain financial models to support a deeper level of analysis of financial trends and performance, providing insights into their impact on Profit and Loss (P&L).
- Prepare month-end variance analysis and operational reviews for the business teams, providing insights on financial performance and KPIs, providing insights on changes against the plan, forecasts, and historical, and highlight upcoming opportunities and risks.
- Proactively review and develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to find actionable opportunities for stakeholders and draw attention on how these metrics link to the P&L and drive financial improvements.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement, streamline workflows, and implement solutions to enhance overall efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and perform other duties assigned by management, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of Pehr.
- Ensure appropriate financial and business controls are operating and functioning appropriately
- Support the accounting team, as required
Qualifications, Education & Experience :
- University degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
- Accounting designation (CPA) or actively progressing in the program towards completion
- 2+ years Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) at the Senior Financial Analyst level is preferred
- Excellent communication & business partnering skills with the ability to bring clarity to complex business issues
