*SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST, FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS**COPORATE SERVICES - FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION BRANCH*Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst has a critical role in the Financial Planning & Analysis team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial information and analysis, including the preparation of budgets, forecasts, regulatory submissions and various reports. This role also acts as a business partner with functional leaders to ensure fiscal responsibility and financial sustainability.*MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**Budgeting and Forecasting** Formulates robust budget assumptions by engaging with key stakeholders, performing in-depth trend analysis, and monitoring key cost drivers.* Develops and manages multi-year budget models and forecasts to support strategic planning and presents financial insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.* Prepares budget packages for the Board of Directors and the Ministry.* Applies critical thinking to gain insights through variance analysis and stakeholder engagement. Assists budget owners in understanding budget variances and identifying corrective actions.* Continuously incorporates revised assumptions and trend analysis to ensure forecast accuracy.* Demonstrates expertise in building complex financial models and conducting rigorous analyses. Prepares insightful commentary and reports tailored to the specific needs of diverse stakeholders.* Drives improvement initiatives through collaboration, proactively assesses financial risks and opportunities. Formulates mitigation strategies.*Regulatory Submissions and Reporting** Responsible for preparation and delivery of scheduled and ad-hoc submission and report packages for the Board of Directors, Ministry and management.* Manages all stages of the work, leads the review process and performs quality assurance.* Develops ad-hoc analytical and reporting packages to support data-informed decision-making.* Prepares audit reports, schedules and analysis.*Supervisory Duties** Leads, mentors and manages assigned staff. Champions a culture of professional excellence.* Supports recruitment efforts, facilitates performance appraisal processes, and helps establish team expectations and goals to foster a high-performing and collaborative work environment.* Develops, maintains, and implements the team?s succession plan.* Ensures Society?s policies, procedures, guidelines and professional standards are adhered to by staff; communicates relevant changes in agency policy and professional practices; identifies and resolves current and on-going challenges, issues and concerns.*Other** Optimizes the use of financial and time resources through sound judgment.* Ensures compliance with applicable legislation, policies and procedures.* Ensures Society?s Code of Ethics, Confidentiality, Anti-Oppression/ Anti-Racism, Harassment & Discrimination policies, etc. are incorporated into self and team.* Works in a safe manner in accordance with the Society?s health and safety policies and procedures and all relevant legislation.* Performs other duties as assigned.*QUALIFICATIONS*Education and Experience* University degree in a related field, and* A recognized accounting designation, such as CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) and is a current member in good standing, and* Five years of recent experience in a senior accounting position with specialized experience in budgeting, reporting, analysis and forecasting.Knowledge and Skills* Proven leadership and team development skills with a growth mindset.* Demonstrated excellent consensus building skills in collaborative environments with tact and diplomacy.* Excellent proactive work planning skills and efficient utilization of resources.* Experienced in innovation and change management.* Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments, demonstrating adaptability, agility, and excellent time management skills to effecti
