Position and Fit

Kerr Industries is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of finance and reporting functions. This role involves managing responsibilities related to daily accounting duties, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead and participate in the month-end close process, ensuring journal entries, closing activities, analysis, and reports are accurate and timely.
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of all balance sheet presentations.
• Analyze performance against budget and report variances with causal analysis.
• Prepare the monthly financial reporting package, including analysis and commentary on results and ad hoc requests.
• Develop and create financial reports to explain and analyze financial data supporting operational decisions.
• Analyze and report on sales channel and product line sales and profitability.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

• Has 3-5+ years of relevant experience.
• Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Has experience with ERP systems.
• CPA certification is preferred or in progress.
• Can develop relationships with individuals at all levels, including customers, vendors, and colleagues.
• Communicates clearly and professionally via phone, email, and written reports.
• Possesses strong analytical skills to identify inaccuracies or discrepancies.
• Demonstrates problem-solving and innovative thinking to analyze, interpret, and resolve issues in the best interest of the company.
• Is highly proficient in Excel and familiar with report writing query tools (e.g., basic query language).
• Maintains professionalism, balancing urgency and decisiveness with patience and empathy.
• Handles proprietary information with discretion.
