Base pay range
CA$75,000.00 / yr - CA$90,000.00 / yr
As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will take the lead on FP&A activities with a unique emphasis on Revenue, Capital Expenditure (CAPEX), and Operational Expenditure (OPEX) reporting, analysis, and modeling. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will take a hands-on approach to building management and investor reports, leveraging financial data to create compelling narratives.
Financial Planning and Analysis :
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with departmental heads to gather inputs and consolidate budgets.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual performance against budgets and forecasts and provide actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Monitor and report on budget adherence and identify areas for cost optimization.
Revenue Analysis :
- Develop revenue projections and assist setting revenue and profitability targets based on market analysis and historical data.
- Prepare reports on revenue performance, highlighting key drivers and variances.
CAPEX and OPEX Reporting :
- Evaluate and analyze capital expenditure proposals, assessing their financial viability and alignment with strategic goals.
- Track and report on CAPEX and OPEX performance, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and financial targets.
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor the financial impact of CAPEX projects and operational expenditures.
Strategic Support & Investor Reporting :
- Assist in the preparation of investor and management reporting, supporting the strategic decision-making process.
- Develop and deliver ad-hoc reports for various stakeholders, translating complex financial data into compelling narratives that drive informed decision-making.
SKILLS THE CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years of working experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis role – have seen the full FP&A cycle, ideally in the Telecom, Real Estate, Infrastructure or Technology (IT consulting or infrastructure) related industry.
- 2+ years experience working in an Audit and / or Accounting environment.
- CPA designation complete and in good standing, or in final stages.
- Analytical review and problem-solving skills with the ability to make recommendations based upon data analysis.
- Advanced Excel – Able to manage large data sets, using a variety of advanced functionality within Excel (ability to write VBA Macros highly valued).
- Knowledge of SQL for database querying and extraction.
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to communicate and partner at every level of the organization, especially with Leadership.
