Job description

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing Finance team located in London, Ontario. Reporting to the DIrector of Finance you are a strategic thinker who enjoys working closely with the operations and senior management teams to deliver accurate forecasting, profit modeling and process improvements that drive business results.

This role is key in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting and analysis, supporting strategic decision-making across departments. An exciting opportunity for a professional who values professional development opportunities and a collaborative workplace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transform financial data into clear, compelling insights advising the senior management team with data-driven recommendations that support profitability goals
  • Produce monthly dashboards, KPIs, and executive-ready reports
  • Conduct profitability and cost allocation analyses including forecasting, profit modeling and process improvement
  • Analyze profitability, margins, and risks across all major projects and equipment
  • Analyze cost reports, WIP schedules, progress billings, and equipment utilization
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to track project costs and manage variances
  • Ensure forecasts reflect business trends and evolving market conditions
  • Support AR/AP and payroll analytics for union and non-union teams
  • Recommend improvements in ERP and reporting tools
  • Monitor payment cycles and support compliance
  • Work with accounting and tech teams to streamline workflows
  • Automate, elevate, and simplify—wherever possible
  • Support the development of the annual operating plan and long-range forecast
  • Enhance budget processes and tools to improve efficiency and transparency
  • Through the use of data, strategically solve problems, identify trends, and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supports and helps drive the annual budget process, quarterly forecasting, and ongoing financial reporting
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of effective information and reporting systems/processes to ensure the accuracy, integrity and reliability of financial information
  • Recommends and implements process optimization initiatives to improve the timeliness and accuracy of financial reports
  • Work seamlessly across divisions, building productive relationships with project managers
  • Support ad hoc reporting and analytics requests with actionable insights

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, CPA, CMA designation
  • 5+ years' of progressive Senior Financial Analyst experience
  • Proven experience with WIP, job costing, and progress billing
  • Familiar with construction ERPs like Sage 300, Maestro, Bid2Win, or Acumatica
  • Comfortable with BI dashboards and financial modeling
  • Advanced knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling principles
  • Proven ability to deliver insights that drive business results
  • Experience with BI tools such as Cognos Analytics or similar platforms (an asset)
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
