About the Senior Financial Analyst role

This role requires expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and analysis, with a strong understanding of business processes, legislative, and regulatory considerations. Reporting to the Manager of Planning, the analyst will provide proactive financial insights and support strategic decision-making through clear communication of financial information.

The responsibilities include:

  • Supporting budget and forecast processes, ensuring policy compliance, analyzing assumptions, and providing recommendations.
  • Developing and maintaining financial models to support planning and analysis activities.
  • Analyzing monthly financial results, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending course corrections.
  • Preparing and reviewing reports and ad hoc information requests.
  • Maintaining expertise in financial systems, troubleshooting, and implementing best practices.
  • Ensuring policy compliance, documentation, and adapting to legislative changes.

What do you need to be successful?

  • A post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred (considering experience as an alternative).
  • Minimum of 5 years in planning or accounting roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and analytical tools.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Assets include:

  • Experience with IFRS legislation.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP and 365.
  • Bilingual in English and French.
