Job summary

Conexus is seeking a Senior Financial Advisor at our Saskatoon branch to deliver tailored financial guidance across lending, investments and mutual funds, while building lasting member relationships. You will analyze goals, provide solutions, and guide members through complex products, with compliance and service excellence as top priorities.

This role requires IFIC licensing and advisory experience, with CFP designation pursued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Financial Industry Experience in an Advisory Capacity.
• Experience in customer care/customer service role.
• IFIC Licensed and experience selling Mutual Funds with that designation.
• Experience in Underwriting Loans; experience approving loans is an asset.
• Personal Financial Services Associate designation, or working towards it.
• Certified Financial Planner Designation, or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identifying members’ financial goals and provide advice and solutions to support their achievement through advisory planning.
• Offer and fulfill financial services and products within scope: accounts, investments, lending, mutual funds, cards, and more.
• Conduct outreach to educate members and prospective members on product value and function.
• Increase retention and expand member relationships by referring to appropriate specialists and following up.

The bigger picture

As a Senior Financial Advisor (SFA) working at our 8th Street branch, Saskatoon, SK, you are responsible for understanding the financial goals of your assigned portfolio of members and supporting their achievement. This includes the offering and fulfillment of financial services and products, including consumer lending and investments (including mutual funds). This position is at a six-day location and requires flexibility in the work schedule.

How you’ll be spending your time

Member Experience and Sales

• Proactively identifying members’ financial goals and provide advice and solutions to support their achievement through the provision of introductory financial planning
• Provide account, investment and lending products within scope of position, to meet member needs:
  • Memberships and accounts including lines of credit
  • Consumer investment products including mutual funds
  • Complex consumer lending products
  • Cards
  • Registered products
  • Safety deposit boxes
  • Mobile banking solutions
  • Day to day banking needs
• Conduct proactive outreach activities to educate members and prospective members on the value and function of our products and services
• Increase retention and expansion of member relationships by referring members to appropriate subject matter experts, based on needs, and follow-up to ensure member satisfaction

Compliance and Organizational Support

• Ensure complete, accurate and timely documentation
• Adhere to security and operational policies, procedures and operational controls
• Ensure a healthy balance between opportunity & risk and between growth & profitability (e.g. through understanding and application of profitability margins in rate negotiation, fee subsidies, etc.)
• Positively represent Conexus externally to support the growth of our membership and to enhance credit union system support and collaboration
• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance processes and improve operational efficiencies
• Provide support, assistance and backup as required for retail team

The experience you bring

• 5+ years of Financial Industry Experience in an Advisory Capacity
• Experience working in a customer care/customer service role
• IFIC Licensed and experience selling Mutual Funds with that designation is required

Salary Range:

$67,660 - $84,570 with 10% Short Term Incentive Target
