Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant specializing in automation and digital tools to join our team. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, along with a passion for leveraging technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency. This individual will support the financial reporting team and account closing activities.
What You Will Bring to the Company
- Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and notes required by law in North America, utilizing automated tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Automation Implementation: Lead the deployment and maintenance of automated accounting systems and digital tools to improve reporting accuracy, governance, and closing processes.
- Investment Valuation and Stewardship: Support the consolidation of the long-term annual plan and reporting using digital solutions (e.g., Alteryx, PowerBI). Assist in the annual valuation of revenue-generating business units by collaborating with internal business partners and external valuation firms.
- External Audit Liaison: Collaborate with external auditors to prepare quarterly and annual reports, providing SAP reports and supporting documents efficiently via digital platforms.
- Integration: Assist in integrating the wind energy sector with Gaz and energy's other business sectors.
- Core Project Support: Support core accounting projects and other activities requiring local knowledge and proximity, utilizing digital tools to facilitate collaboration and communication.
Requirements
- College/university degree in finance, business, accounting, or business administration
- Professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) strongly preferred
- At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience; experience with 'Big4' and public accounting is an asset
- Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to take initiative and be proactive, managing projects independently with minimal supervision
