Job summary

University of Toronto Mississauga seeks an Assistant Director, Academic Finance to lead financial management for the academic, library and research portfolio. The role reports to the Director, Academic Finance and advices the Dean on budget, reporting and strategic resource allocation.

The position manages a multi-million dollar portfolio, drives process improvements, and ensures compliance with university policies while guiding complex modelling and forecasting activities across units.

Qualifications

• University degree and a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or CGA) or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience in finance and business management.
• A minimum of 7 years of budgeting, accounting and financial analysis experience including being a trusted advisor and business partner.
• A minimum of 4 years of comprehensive people management experience with mentorship and growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of financial management for academic, library and research operations.
• Lead budget process across the portfolio and prepare extensive financial reporting and analysis.
• Provide financial advice on a wide range of issues and develop policies and procedures.
